In the 1990s, McMahon made his mark in American television with appearances in The Power, The Passion and Another World, before landing major roles in genre-spanning series such as the psychological crime thriller Profiler (1996–2000).

Defining Roles in Charmed and Nip/Tuck

Two of McMahon’s most iconic performances came in the early 2000s. He captivated fantasy fans as the half-demon Cole Turner in Charmed (2000–2003), and then earned critical acclaim as the complex plastic surgeon Dr. Christian Troy in Nip/Tuck (2003–2010). The latter role even earned him a Golden Globe nomination, solidifying his place among TV’s elite.

Charismatic Presence on the Big Screen

McMahon brought gravitas and charisma to the big screen, most notably as the villain Victor Von Doom in Fantastic Four (2005) and its 2007 sequel. His film résumé also includes Premonition, RED, Paranoia, and most recently, The Surfer.

In the final years of his career, McMahon continued to shine. He played a key role in Marvel’s Runaways (2017–2018) and led CBS’s FBI: Most Wanted (2019–2022) as Special Agent Jess LaCroix.
